Account recovery & security
Email and password
Use the most recent confirmation or password reset email. Security links can expire and may be usable only once; request a new link if yours no longer works. Password recovery does not approve an account, assign project access or replace authenticator verification.
Lost authenticator & MFA recovery
Contact Arthur Reinhart at art@cameraobscura.cloud or through your established course contact. Email password recovery alone does not restore an authenticator. A message from the affected account alone is not sufficient identity verification; recovery requires an independent in-person identity check.
An authorized recovery requires old sessions to be explicitly revoked, your own new authenticator to be enrolled and verified, and existing access to be reviewed. Administrator status does not bypass confidentiality checks. The app does not provide a recovery ticket system or an automatic authenticator reset.
Administrator account recovery requires independent verification and authorization. If an independent verifier is not available, recovery may be delayed. There is no automatic authenticator reset or bypass.
Security best practices
Never send passwords, authenticator setup keys, MFA codes, backup codes or session cookies by email or messaging. Support will not ask for your password or authenticator setup key. Keep your authenticator and its own recovery options secure.
The app does not currently issue backup recovery codes. In Account Security, you can add and test a backup authenticator after verifying your existing one. Keep the backup on a separate device. If your authenticator app offers its own recovery option, follow that provider’s guidance and protect it separately.
